When my Grandma misgendered my fiancee I corrected her (without the support of my Mom and Uncle, I told them to correct her as well) and she was like well they will always be *birthname* to me :( I wanted to scream.
Then I explained to my Mom and Uncle about how upset/angry I was and they basically said that I shouldn’t be and am making everything worse and should just let my Grandma be a verbally abusive asshole to me.
I don’t understand why they don’t think this is a big deal. Fuck everything.
